I’m more a non-fiction than a fiction reader, since it’s essays that I write most. I keep small tabs by my side when reading. By the time I finish a book it usually has at least 20 or 30 tabs dangling from between its pages. Then it’s time to type up my notes, which can take weeks to complete.

I also like to have at least three or four books going simultaneously. This allows me to explore the books for unique connections between them that otherwise might get overlooked. It’s especially exhilarating when I find a connection between two or more books that, based on their covers, would have little if anything in common.
