I’m usually told he lacks intelligence or even basic reason. I ask which of his 14+ books they’ve read before drawing that conclusion.

To be fair, he didn’t write any of those books. His ghostwriters did. He boasts about not being a reader, which I think is unacceptable, especially for a person in his position.
