With regard to this critique the US is also the only developed nation not to provide its citizens with healthcare, has priced most of its adult population out of a university education (roughly 55% of Canada’s population has a bachelor’s degree compared to only 32% in the US), relies on the Russians to get to the International Space Station and the Europeans for confirmation of things like the Higgs boson. I’m not saying we don’t have a big central government. I’m saying we don’t have a very effective one. Size doesn’t equal a constructive or efficient use of resources.
